LOL maryb -- you wouldn't believe the sad looking cardinals we've had here. The worst is a male that went fully bald (apparently a normal occurrence). You could see his wrinkly grey head. He looked like a skeksis from The Dark Crystal. I think I tweeted a photo of it ... let me get the link.
Fabulous! I love this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! Love your hummingbird in bw -- love the little feet. :D
DeleteWhat Country Girl said.
ReplyDeleteOk the eyes are cool but that is one sad looking Cardinal. is that a female?

DeleteHere it is: LINK
This one is a juvenile, with the black beak. I'm not sure if it's male or female though. The juvenile feather colour is pale.
I would nickname him Voldemort :)
DeleteGreat shot. Especially when you think of the difficult light conditions. With my camera, the head would be overexposed, and the rest dark ... :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Stefan! It was kind of tricky with that spot of sun. :-)
DeleteLovely shots, you've captured her perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning lighting, Candis. Love this mini series of birds! I wish we had cardinals. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteRight now, the most activity in the garden is the squirrels decimating our hazelnut tree. :) xo
Hi G! Oh dear -- squirrels are so bad, aren't they. The mischief-makers. :-) xo
