  1. Lovely photos. Very evocative of the time of year. Makes it seem welcoming and warm even though (today anyway) it isn't.

  2. Hi Chris - thank you. It's getting closer each day now, isn't it. The buds are coming in on the birch on the front yard. It's been a long, dull winter. I'm ready for the return of the colour. :)

  6. That is one busy bird! We have Pileated's that nest every year in a big old tree across the street from us. I was listening to them call this morning and tonight. How I love that call!!!

I swear these photo's could be from my own town! Wonderful Candis. It feels like home : )

  9. Hi Sharon - lol, it was completely absorbed by its work (how I was able to get close!). :)

Hi Kate - aren't they something. So large, with that bright red. I hope the one near you gets close enough for its photo op ... ;-)

Hi Scott - Thanks! Yep, it's back. It's so nice to have it back. :) The woodpecker shots were taken with the old D70s and 18-200mm lens. (As well as the full view of the pussy willows and the squirrel, while the others were taken with the D300 + 35mm.) I usually carry both cams, one with the WA lens and one with some zoom.
